Self Serve success means customer satisfaction. All it requires is simple 1960’s technology wash wands in each bay with a 2005 flair that have High Pressure Detergent, Rinse, Wax and Foam Brushes with options such as:
tire cleaner; wheel and engine cleaner; presoak; red, yellow and blue foam brush; foaming clear coat conditioner in red,blue, yellow or all three; high pressure rinse; clear coat protectant; spot free rinse; polyvalent, vinyl protectant; bug remover and undercarriage protectant.
Up to 13 functions are available, giving you a sea of options. Additional bill accepters in each bay is another option.
Statistics show that up to 29% of SS in the US still use only 4 options. The industry trends suggest offering more than four and less than 15 functions. However, adding wand options requires additional equipment: chemical tanks, hydromider, air pumps, solenoids, tubing and other miscellaneous fittings.
Why should you add options? Time. Time is what the customer is paying for. The more time they spend at your car wash using these options, the more money they spend. Some options you might want to consider are: brighter colored and stronger fragranced foam detergents and foam detergents that cling to the car surface. These have been proven to keep customers at the wash longer and clean better than older products.
To reduce your cost, have more low pressure functions. Why? The cost is 6x less than medium pressure options.
